How the University of Salford prepares me for a career in Content Marketing

 

 

 

Passion is the key to succeed. It makes your job, not “just a job,” but a meaningful part of your life. My passion for Marketing began in the second year of my Bachelors’ degree at Salford University. Since then has been shifted into the fascinating field of Content Marketing during my master’s studies.

 

My Experience in  University of Salford

The completion of the undergraduate degree in Business and Management at the University of Salford provided me with the academic foundation in the business environment and its relevant activities. It offered me the opportunity to explore the various premier business components. My studies have also helped me to acquire key skills such as strategic and analytical thinking, planning, team working and problem solving.

Currently I am doing my master’s degree in Marketing and I am attending the final module of my studies which is Search & Social Media Marketing. I find this module very interesting, as it gives me the opportunity to both broaden my knowledge in digital marketing and apply it practice. However, I believe that the Traditional Marketing is the foundation of any marketing aspect. Digital Marketing is the evolution of it and it seems that in the future these two fundamentals of Marketing will become one single subject with various elements.

Why Marketing?

Marketing is not just about satisfying needs for actual or potential buyers of product and/or service, it is further beyond that. Marketing has a value creation and delivery sequence that consists of three parts. That is choosing the value, providing the value, and communicating the value. From my point of view, marketing is an activity that uses knowledge, behaviour, attitudes and creativity for satisfaction, communication & delivery, and exchange offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society.

 

The Evolution of Marketing 

Digital Marketing, potentially present the greatest marketing opportunity of the 21st century. The increase usage of internet and its multiple digital marketing channels has helped marketing to revolutionise.

Content Marketing embodies both the principles of Traditional & Digital Marketing. Is the oldest and one of the most effective ways of communication between marketers and their audiences. Content Marketing is a very influential and innovative field in Digital Marketing as the society becomes more informed and sophisticated, having wider access in to the information through various devices and at any time.

Digital Marketing gives the opportunity for brands to come closer to consumers and communicate directly with them. Content Marketing has transformed the way businesses interact with their customers. Since the rise of social media, brands have come closer and become more communicative with their customers in order to create trust and loyalty. SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is the golden tool for an effective content marketing strategy; a fairly new entrant into a hyper-competitive niche that dominates search engine results and can built a powerful brand imcontent marketing

Traditional Marketing Vs Digital Marketing

Digital marketing is the umbrella term used to describe the use digital channels to promote or market products and services to consumers and businesses. These channels include Search engine optimisation (SEO), Pay per click (PPC), Content Marketing, Email Marketing, Digital Display Advertising, Social Media Marketing and Mobile Marketing.

Traditional marketing on the other hand make use of tangible items such as print ads in newspapers or magazines, posters, commercials on TV and radio, billboards, referrals and brochures. Traditional marketing is anything except digital means to brand your product or logo.

How my studies have helped to pursue a career in Content Marketing?

Through the various assignment and group projects I have enhanced my understanding about numerous marketing concepts and the forces affected them. During my studies at the University of Salford I have gained significant knowledge in the field of strategic marketing, market research, social media marketing and SEO. I have boarder my world outlook and helped me to focus on the area of my interest and to be successful in a field that I am passionate about.
